Alea Lifting: Travels, Lifting, and Other Adventures
A British Weekend…

International weightlifting in Waregem – 2 July 2011
Yesterday was the 2nd International Ladies Open and Masters Weightlifting in Waregem, Belgium, which is the home club of two of our main Belgian international referees, Jozef and Michel. It was the last tournament on the first half of my season, 104kg total and second place. Now I start my “body vacation” for three weeks,…
16e Memorial Decottignies – Comines, France – 25 June
I was part of the national Belgian womens team, which was me, and two female cadets. So we did not win, as other teams had five lifters but had a good time, but a long day. Some photos below:
European Masters Weightlifting 2011 – Heinsheim, Germany

Belgian senior championships 2011
Hard week, working towards the European Masters in Germany in two weeks, so this was a hard training for me. Did reasonably, got four out of six, and was credible with a third place overall finish.
More photos from first interclub in Feb
In the home stretch for nationals and European Masters, so can only post older stuff right now 😉
2nd Belgian interclub in La Louviere
Second interclub, did all 6 lifts with three white lights, and unfortunately with the start of the stomach flu, which I suffered from all night last night 🙁 Given back problem of last week, and stomach bug, 105kg total is pretty darn good!
More from the Arnold 2011
With many thanks to Dan Russell from Univ of South Florida!!
Lifting (snatch) at the Arnold 2011
There is a commercial first (sorry!) and then you can find me at 6:55 and 14:53 for good lifts, and a little later (19:15) for a not so good lift 😉 Ellyn Robinson is the one you hear giving me coaching in the background. Some more photos from the Arnold, including a few of Arnold!
